Dr. Andrew Strauss BS, MS, DC
Dr. Andrew Strauss is a 1982 Honors graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. One of the world’s leading scoliosis doctors, he is the director of Strauss Scoliosis Correction in Nanuet, New York. Dr. Strauss has been actively engaged in scoliosis treatment for over 39 years and has authored two books on the subject, Your Child Has Scoliosis and The Truth About Adult Scoliosis.
He is Vice President of the CLEAR Scoliosis Institute, a non-profit institute that provides alternative scoliosis treatment options other than bracing and surgery to correct curves and relieve scoliosis pain. He is also a lecturer for their introductory workshops and advanced symposiums.
Dr. Strauss also lectures for local, national, and international professional societies on the subject of scoliosis treatment. He is certified in scoliosis bracing and is trained in a variety of schools of scoliosis exercises and modalities, including SEAS (Scoliosis Exercises Applied to Scoliosis), Schroth, CLEAR, CBP (Chiropractic Biophysics), and Yoga for Scoliosis. Dr. Strauss is a graduate of the ISICO World Masters of Scoliosis.
Since every patient deserves treatment based on their specific needs, Dr Strauss has created a unique and highly effective treatment program, the Strauss Method, that uses a variety of these non-surgical treatment modalities.
His other postgraduate studies include a Master of Acupuncture as well as training in the Grostic Procedure, the Pettibon System, Clinical Nutrition, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Manipulation under Anesthesia, and Electrodiagnosis. He has studied advanced approaches of X-ray imaging techniques using digital high frequency radiology to reduce patient dosage.
In addition to his work in the field of scoliosis, Dr. Strauss is a lifelong practitioner of yoga. He was first certified as a yoga instructor in 1981.
Because of Dr. Strauss’ long-standing success treating scoliosis patients with non-surgical treatments, the Strauss Scoliosis Correction Center has treated patients from 25 states, four Canadian provinces, and 33 foreign countries.
Dr. Strauss is married with three children and lives in Northern New Jersey.
